My initial TomTom GPS Navigator and will not be my last!
I'm happy using the device. Happier than I was with Sync, Alpine, or Garmin. I consider myself an 'Average' navigation user (not a newbie, not an professional) and will update the review following utilizing it more.
Sidenote: I ordered through Amazon, utilizing "Beach Camera" vendor. It was delivered One (1) company day following I ordered it! I utilized 'Standard' delivery, and FedEx (Home service) had it delivered fast. Extremely pleased with Beach Camera's delivery email messages and pace!
I thought I'd provide an update following six months of utilizing this TomTom device:
1) I am nonetheless very happy! It's the 1st GPS I've utilized that "just works" and I'm glad I don't need to mess with it.
2) I've mastered the method of adjusting the screen place while concurrently holding the suction base. Back in Might after i initial reviewed it, I was concerned about how 'easily' it popped off. Now, it's nonetheless irritating, but I've minimized the amount of times it occurs by holding it appropriately. It does not annoy me enough to buy a various stand/holder.
3) The suction cup nonetheless holds on quite nicely. It hasn't fallen off yet. (I attach/detach from the windshield every time I exploit it.)
four) Traffic Receiver: I have been satisfied with alternate directions/road closings. It's quite correct, even in rural locations where I did not expect road closures to become shown.
5) Long-distance journey: I've utilized it for a few lengthy journeys (1000+ miles) and had no issues whatsoever with it. I discovered the 'estimate' of time to become extremely correct. It was no more than 10 minutes off. (I calculated the time I stopped for gasoline and added it to the authentic estimate.)
six) Battery lifestyle: I've discovered the battery lifestyle to become holding a bit less charge than it utilized to, but absolutely nothing that I really feel is alarming. Most of the time, I've the power cord linked anyway (so I can grab the traffic updates using the antenna constructed in to the cord.)
Overall, this is my favorite GPS. I have been hooking it up to the pc less and less (which means I am forfeiting new 'map share' corrections). I even made the decision NOT to get the newest map update. Why? Nicely, I really feel every thing is operating just good the way it's. I might update if I've the totally free time. This is in sharp distinction to my previous GPS expertise, where I'd pray for updates to repair stubborn problems. The TomTom is simply good and I've had no main complaints. I am NOT within the marketplace to buy a brand new GPS because I'm finally satisfied.
